Viet Nam, our native country, is a peaceful land, peaceful as the name of the Pacific Ocean that spreads alongside its territory. We grew up in the 1950s when the war between the North Communists and the South Republic of Vietnam heightened. Our adult life was darkened by the Black April of 1975 when millions of our people fled the communists, many died in the dense forest or in the deep ocean waters and never reached a free land. We are living the remainder of our life in exile with a smoldering nostalgia.
